Robarts Clinical Trials is moving into the iconic Bell building on Dundas St.
A total of 95 staff members will be taking over vacant office space on the second floor of the building.
Robarts focuses on clinical trials and researching new therapies, testing and treatment for those with life-altering illnesses.
The company has doubled in size in the last two years, and it is expected the workforce will grow between 15-20% over the next year. There are two other offices in Amsterdam and California.
"We have a lot of services that we require that come from the London community, advertising, marketing and legal services. Campus is fine, but the opportunity to be downtown gives us the opportunity to grow," says Robarts' CEO Dr. Brian Fagan. "The footprint here is 40,000 sq ft and we'll be starting out with 22,000. It was really a matter of necessity."
The move will happen in early 2016.
Robarts Clinical Trials is a private company, separate from Western University.
It was founded in London in 1986.
