Anyone looking for culture and entertainment information about London can now just go online.
Tourism London has soft-launched a new website, www.londonison.ca, with the aim of drawing more attention to what London has to offer in music, arts and culture.
"There's a lot of fabulous acts that come into the Music Hall, Music Club, Aeolian Hall, and Grand Theatre that sometimes will escape and people find out after the fact through conversation," says Chris Campbell, Tourism London's Director of Culture and Entertainment. "We want to promote those acts more effectively inside and outside the city."
Along with the web site, residents can connect through the Twitter hashtag #LDNENT.
"We really want to try and promote a hashtag, something different from the #LDNONT which focuses on London in general ," says Campbell. "We really want to try and focus the conversation around music, arts and culture, develop a mechanism for conversation around events to get people to share their event experiences."
Tourism London plans to host a variety of contests on the website and create a review section which will be open for feedback on the events taking place around the city.
"The first step in becoming known for having such a vibrant scene is declaring it, and so this is our declaration that there's a lot going on in London and we want to brag about it," says Campbell.
