Canadian Blood Services is launching a social media campaign in hopes of encouraging everyone to give the gift of life and donate blood this holiday season.
The goal of the "Wrap It Red" campaign is to have donors use the hashtag on a photo of something wrapped red to create awareness about the importance of blood donations.
"We're rallying Canadians to wrap up their communities in red to show their appreciation to our generous donors and encourage others," says Judy Compton with Canadian Blood Services. "Right now, our inventory is fairly healthy but blood does have a shelf life. We're always looking for Canadians to book appointments over the holidays because we do find that people tend to cancel because they're travelling or due to illness."
