It was the last day of work for the remaining 130 employees. The last Frosted Flakes were packaged and shipped out two weeks ago. The employees have been cleaning the building and preparing for shutdown since.
It is unclear what will happen to the building or the land it sits on. The plant had been a staple on Dundas St. since the 1920s.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
