After four scandal plagued years and two mayors, this city council's term is officially over.
The group met for the last time on Tuesday night to say their goodbyes and thank their constituents.
"I think history will be kinder than our current experience. I think together we did achieve a lot," says Joe Swan, who ran for mayor in October but lost to Matt Brown. "I think we had great vision for our community. We had tremendous struggles making decisions for our community, I think we probably could have done a better job."
Many had words of encouragement for the 11 new faces and three returning members who will shape the next council.
Long serving Councillor Judy Bryant urged the newcomers to stick to and work to implement The London Plan.
"We have the opportunity for a huge legacy here, this will change the direction of the city," notes Bryant. "It needs obviously a lot of care and thought to bring it forward."
Mayor-elect Matt Brown and the elected councillors will be sworn in on December 1.
