Gubbels Makes Brief Video Court Appearance

The man charged with murder in the deaths of his Warwick Township parents will be back in court Friday morning after a very brief appearance today.

Jeremy Gubbels of London appeared from the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre and was remanded in custody until November 7 when he will appear again by video.

The 26-year-old is charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of his parents. He was arrested July 13 shortly after the body of his father, 54-year-old Mario Gubbels, was found in London.

Earlier that night, the body of his mother, 55-year-old Susan Gubbels, had been found in her home in the 5800-block of Arkona Rd.

A ban has been imposed on the publication or broadcast of information given during the court proceedings.
