Maroons' Richter named GOHL player of month, Baker rookie of month

Two Chatham Maroons are being recognized for hot starts to the 2026/27 season.

The Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL) announced on Thursday that Dylan Richter was the player of the month for September, while Andrew Baker was the rookie of the month.

Both lead the GOHL with 16 points, two more than third place. In six games, Richter has seven goals and nine assists, while Baker has five goals and 11 assists in five games.

The pair's play has helped the Maroons start the season with a 5-1-0-0 record. This is good for second place in the Western Conference, tied with the St. Marys Lincolns and St. Thomas Stars for the best record in the conference.

The Maroons will be back in action at home on October 4 against the expansion Woodstock Navy Vets.
