The Chatham Maroons have tied a season-long winning streak after two strong performances.
The team picked up its fourth straight win on Thursday against the Sarnia Legionnaires. The two teams faced off in Sarnia, with the Maroons winning 6-2.
It was Sarnia's Owen Hey who opened the scoring less than a minute into the game.
It wouldn't take the Maroons long to equalize, as Trevor Zanutto found the back of the net for his 14th goal a few minutes later. Getting the assists on the play were Aidan Edwards and Bo Doxtator.
The Maroons would end the first period with the lead thanks to Gensen Geldart's second goal of the season. Josh Harding and Zanutto had the helpers.
Geldart added his second goal of the game in the second period from Edwards and Zachary Cvetkovski, before Dylan Richter scored his sixth of the season from Alexander Lisi.
Kael Cooper got Sarnia back within two goals before the end of the second period, but that's as close as they would get.
Geldart completed his hat-trick in the third period from Boris Genov and Jaxon Priddle, before Carter Chadwick finished the scoring with his sixth of the season from Lisi and Zanutto.
Viljami Kukkola made 15 saves for the win.
The Maroons then picked up their fifth straight win at home on Sunday against the LaSalle Vipers.
The only goal in the first period was scored by LaSalle's Adriano Tonin.
The second period saw five goals, four of which were scored by the Maroons.
Ian LaChance found the back of the net for his fourth goal to tie the game. Geldart and Richter had the assists.
The Maroons got their first lead of the game when Zanutto scored his 15th of the season from Ewan McChesney.
Tonin would tie the game for LaSalle with his second goal, but it was short-lived as Chadwick got his seventh goal of the season less than a minute later. Getting the assists on Chadwick's goal were Priddle and Richter.
Kaden Sienko later scored the Maroons' fourth goal of the period. His third goal was unassisted.
Chadwick added his second goal of the game in the third period from Richter and LaChance, while Tonin completed his hat-trick for LaSalle.
The last goal of the game was scored in an empty net by the Maroons' Max Skinner. His sixth of the season was helped by Grant Symons and Sienko.
Samuel DiBlasi made 39 saves for the win.
The Maroons will be back in action on Friday on the road against the St. Marys Lincolns. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
