Chatham's Jordan returning to Laurier

The Laurier Golden Hawks are getting their star wide receiver back.

Chatham's own Ethan Jordan is returning for a fifth season after being released by the Ottawa Redblacks earlier this week. He was selected 51st overall in the 2025 CFL draft, but the team decided he needed another season at Laurier to perfect his craft.

"(Training camp) was a good learning experience. It allowed me to expand my knowledge of the game," said Jordan.

He's coming off a season in which he led the country in receptions (59), touchdowns (10), yards per game (125), and total yards (1000) by a receiver. Jordan was arguably the best player during the last Vanier Cup, recording 11 catches for 179 yards.

This season, he's focused on becoming a more prominent member of Laurier's special teams.

"[In the CFL] if you're not a starter, you have to be a backup and play (special teams)," added Jordan

Despite being released by the Redblacks, Jordan has been given an informal invite to next year's training camp. Since he's no longer with the team, he's free to sign with any CFL team.
