Maroons on the verge of eliminating top-ranked Lincolns

The Chatham Maroons didn't get off to the best start in Game 1 of the GOJHL's Western Conference final, but they have roared back since then.

The Maroons were shut out 4-0 in St. Marys in the series opener, but managed to find their scoring touch in the next three games, potting four goals in games 2, 3, and 4 to take a 3-1 series lead.

Winning three straight also gives the Maroons three chances (if necessary) to knock the top-ranked team from St. Marys out of the playoffs en route to a berth in the Sutherland Cup final.

The leading scorer for the Maroons in the series has been North Bay draft pick Dylan Richter with 7 points in 4 games, the goalie leading the way is Gannon Hunter who just made 39 saves on 40 shots between the pipes for Chatham in Game 4.

Game 5 is at Pyramid Recreation Centre in St. Marys at 7:30 p.m. with tickets available at the door.

Game 6 (if necessary) is back in Chatham at Memorial Arena at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 27.
