Chatham Thunder has success in u14 and u19 during regionals

Chatham Thunder saw success over the weekend in all age groups at Western Region Ringette Association regionals in London.

The U14 age group won gold against St. Mary's on Sunday 4-2.

U14 started the weekend losing to rivals Mitchell by a score of 5-4. The team then went on to defeat Etobicoke 5-0 and Burlington 5-2.

At the beginning of the gold medal game the Thunder were down by two but eventually got four goals winning the game.

The U19 age group also had a successful weekend getting silver during the regional championships.

Chatham lost to Elora-Fergus 2-1 Sunday afternoon.

The Thunder opened the weekend playing Niagara Falls winning the game 4-3.

On Saturday, the team then played the Goderich Ice Crushes and won 2-1, which automatically put the team in the final through the round robin.

Chatham played Elora-Fergus twice over the weekend with the Thunder losing 3-2 on Saturday before playing in the final.

For U19, this is the first time in seven years the team did not get gold.

Meanwhile, the Under10 Fun 3 team had one win and two losses over the weekend in a difficult pool.
