Cameron Rannie scored the winner in overtime as the Mooretown Flags beat the Petrolia Flyers 3-2 at home Saturday night.
The Flags are in fifth place with 43 points in the PJHL Stobbs Division. Petrolia has 25 points and is in eighth place.
The game was scoreless until late in the first period, as Kyle Smith scored for the Flags. Mooretown had a 12-9 advantage over Petrolia in shots in the frame.
It took just eight seconds into the second period for the Flyers to even the game up, as Will O'Leary Dilosa scored. Mooretown took the lead again at 2-1 when Ayden Letang scored unassisted.
Eric Marsh's power-play goal in the third period for Petrolia forced the overtime period. Rannie's winner was scored at 44 seconds into the extra stanza.
Jake Wilkins was the winner in goal for the Flags, with 44 saves. Chaska Thiel stopped 32 shots for the Flyers.
Mooretown travels to Blenheim Sunday night, while Petrolia next hosts Lakeshore on Thursday.

Kurt Watson scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period as the Komoka Kings beat the St. Thomas Stars at home.
Komoka has 36 points in the GOJHL Western Conference and is in sixth place. St. Thomas is in eighth place with 30 points.
Both teams exchanged goals in the opening segment. The Stars struck first at 7:46 with a Sean McGurn score, then the Kings tied it up 44 ticks later when Luc Arsenault found the net.
Komoka took the lead with a Bryce Lewis goal at 3:01 of the second period, but St. Thomas tied the game again with Jake Robinson's goal later in the stanza.
Owen Say had 23 saves between the pipes for Komoka, while Anthony Hurtubise took the loss with 31 stops for the Stars.
The Kings are in Strathroy Sunday night.

Nolan DeGurse scored twice as the Sarnia Legionnaires beat the Rockets 3-1 in Strathroy.
The Legionnaires are in fourth place in the Western Conference with 45 points. The Rockets have 33 points and are sitting in seventh.
Matt Stoia scored the lone goal of the first period for the Legionnaires, who outshot the Rockets 14-11 in the first 20 minutes with no penalties taken by either side. Sarnia doubled their lead with the only goal of the second period, with DeGurse lighting the lamp for the first time in the game.
DeGurse struck again at just 30 seconds into the final period. Strathroy averted a shutout with a power-play goal from T.J. Harris about halfway into the frame.
Jakob Knowles stopped all but one of the 43 shots he faced in goal for the Legionnaires. Joshua Diamond had 29 saves in net for Strathroy.
Sarnia heads to London to take on the first-place Nationals Wednesday night.
