Jr. hockey wrap up - January 24, 2019

The second place Leamington Flyers downed the first place London Nationals 3-0.

Flyers goalie Zach Borgiel made 40 saves to get the shutout as Leamington picked up their seventh straight victory.

The Flyers got goals from Thomas Michaud, Josh King, and Brad Postula as Leamington moves seven points back of London in the Western Conference standings.

Leamington is back in action Friday night when they head to St. Thomas. London is off until Sunday when they play in LaSalle.

In Junior C hockey, the Amherstburg Admirals downed the Wallaceburg Lakers 14-2.

Max Clifford has three goals and two assists while the Admirals, while teammate Kyle Meloche added three goals and one helper.

Jeff Williams and Matt Tourigny scored for the Lakers.

Amherstburg wraps up their regular season on Sunday when they host the Wheatley Sharks. Wallaceburg plays Friday night against the Kings in Dresden.

The Wheatley Sharks dropped their second straight, falling 2-1 to the Flyers in Petrolia.

Jace Leach scored in the second period to give the Sharks the lead, but Eric March scored twice on the powerplay in the third a the Flyers rallied for the victory.

Wheatley next plays Sunday night in Amherstburg.
