Cougars Mount Comeback To Tie Brantford

The Junior Varsity Chatham-Kent Cougars are still undefeated.

At one point in Sunday's game, the Cougars were down by 14 points, but they managed to come back on the road to tie Brantford 31-31.

The Cougars and Brantford are now tied for first place in the South, but Chatham owns the tie breaker based on point differential with just one game remaining.

The Cougars offence spread the ball around once again with Jon Cartier and Darion Bacik-Hadden both throwing a touchdown and running another one in. Garrette Stonefish and Ethan Jordan each hauled in a receiving TD.

On the defensive side, Lucas Doyle had nine tackles while Connor Wright had five tackles and forced two fumbles.

Griffith Signs With Sabres

Wallaceburg's Seth Griffith's journey around the NHL will include a stop in Buffalo.

He signed a one-year deal with the Sabres over the long weekend.

The skilled forward bounced around between the NHL and the AHL last season, spending most of his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs' affiliate club, the Toronto Marlies.

He only had five points in 24 games with the Leafs and the Florida Panthers in the 2016-2017 season, but racked up 44 points in 38 games with the Marlies.
