Windsor Spitfires Defenceman Sean Day is officially a member of the New York Rangers after signing an entry-level contract with the NHL club.
The 19-year-old was selected 81st overall by the Rangers in last year's NHL Entry Draft.
He has played in 57 games this season, between Mississauga and Windsor, tallying a career-best 14 goals and 17 assists while taking the eighth-most shots among OHL defencemen.
Four years ago, Day became one of just four players to ever be granted exceptional status by Hockey Canada, which meant he was allowed to play in the OHL when he was 15. The other three players on that list include John Tavares, Aaron Ekblad and Connor McDavid.
