Spitfires Continue To Load Up

The Spitfires are sending a pile of draft picks to Niagara for the IceDogs' top scorer and the rights to another highly touted prospect.

Graham Knott, drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2015, has tallied 17 points in 14 games with Niagara this season.

The 19-year-old stands at 6' 4'' and 195 lbs., and is expected to slide into a top-six role with the Spits starting Saturday in Flint.

"He can play both centre and left wing for us, and will help what is already two pretty good powerplay units," says General Manager Warren Rychel.

Windsor's also gained the rights to Trent Federic.

He's an 18-year-old centre, who's playing in his first year at the University of Wisconsin right now.

Federic was picked by the Boston Bruins 29th overall the 2016 NHL draft.

The Spits also receive Niagara's 7th round pick in 2017.

Going Niagara's way are five draft picks: Kingston's 3rd round selection in 2017, Windsor's 6th in 2017, Windsor's 4th in 2018, Barrie's 3rd in 2019 and Oshawa's 2nd in 2021.
