It's a long way back to the Sutherland Cup final, but that's the goal for the LaSalle Vipers as they kick off their first round playoff series against Sarnia tonight.
Although the Vipers have beat the Legionnaires in four of six regular season meetings, those games suggest this could be a close series.
Four of those contests were decided by two goals or less, and of the three games played at the Vollmer Complex, Sarnia came away with a win, a loss and a tie.
LaSalle lost to Leamington in last season's GOJHL Western Conference final, but got into the Sutherland Cup tournament as a wild card. They ended up making it to the final, but lost in six games against Caledonia.
Puck drop is set for 7pm tonight in LaSalle.
