Jr. Hockey Wrap Up - January 26, 2016

In the battle of hot teams, the Essex 73's came out on top 6-2 over the Wheatley Omstead Sharks.

The 73's hadn't lost in regulation in the team's last 17 games heading into Tuesday night's contest while the Sharks were riding a six game win streak.

Matthew Hebert opened the scoring for the 73's in the first period with Jack Leafeve equalizing for the Sharks on the powerplay.

The 73's would open up a four-goal lead in the second period with Riley Meyerink, Tyler Scott and Max Viselli grabbing their first goals of the game and Hebert scoring his second, this time on the powerplay.

The teams would trade powerplay goals in the third period en route to the 73's victory.

Eric Morneau made 32 saves in the loss while Trevor Wheaton made 19 saves in the win.
