The LaSalle Vipers host the Chatham Maroons tonight in the fourth match-up of the two teams this season.
The Maroons hold the edge in the head-to-head match-up winning two of the three games, but the Vipers won the most recent contest 5-3 on home ice.
"The key for us last game was Chatham has had our number so we were hoping to at least show we could play with that team and beat them — you always want to beat every team in your league in case you meet up in the playoffs and know that you can do it," says Bill Bowler, head coach of the Vipers. "We'd love to even the season series."
Bowler points to avoiding the penalty box as a key for his team tonight.
"Obviously with their top, high-end players some how keeping them off the score sheet or limiting them in their opportunities on the powerplay will be huge. I think special teams will determine the outcome of the game," says Bowler.
In the GOJHL West standings, the Maroons sit tied for second with 38 points while the Vipers are just four points back tied for fifth.
