Spits Get Roster Boost In Mississauga

The Windsor Spitfires look to continue their solid play when they head to Mississauga to face the Steelheads.

Windsor's coming off a 4-0 win over Guelph that saw the game end in a line brawl.

Head Coach Rocky Thompson says that's not how he wanted the game to end.

"Well I put out Logan Brown for one, who's our best player, I put out a 16-year-old, and our best defenceman," says Thompson. "So we were out there with good players not hoping that that would erupt."

Thompson says the return of centre Gabriel Vilardi and goalie Mike DiPietro from the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge will also be a nice boost, and makes them a better team.

The Spits enter the game winners in three of their last four and with an overall record of 12-4-3-0 with 27 points.

The Steelheads are 9-9-0-2 good enough for 20-points.

Puck drop is set for 7:30pm.
