Tyler Turner led the 73's with two goals and an assist, while teammate Trevor Wheaton made 29 saves to get the shutout.
Essex is off until Monday when they head to Wheatley to take on the Sharks.
Lakeshore is back in action on Friday for their home opener against Wheatley.
