CK Catcher Returns From Dominican

17-year-old Kent Bridge native Luke Van Rycheghem is hoping he can take his experience with the Canadian Under-18 National Baseball team to further his career.

Van Rycheghem and the team are back from a 10-day stint in the Dominican, playing major league-affiliated teams. He says they finished with a record of 8-3.

The catcher adds everything seemed faster than what he's used to, but says he adapted well. "I hit really well down there. But I haven't really caught any fast pitchers in a while, so I was a little rusty."

After this year, Van Rycheghem says he wants to either enter the MLB draft or play college ball in the US.
