Another Stem Cell swab event to be held in Chatham

Almost a year after the last swab event held in Ethan Hunter's honour, another will be held in Chatham-Kent.

The teen, who was once told he only had weeks to live, found a Stem Cell match at a similar event and wants to pay it forward.

The Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association (KBBMA), which has held similar swab events in the area for the last several years, is helping Hunter host 'Swab Up, Save a Life.'

Getting swabbed is painless and quick and gets volunteers put on the Canadian Blood Services' Stem Cell Registry.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20 at the St. Clair College Thames campus. Only those between the ages of 17 and 35 are able to take part.
