A 19-year-old Tilbury man has been charged in connection with damage done to the Veterans Memorial Crosswalk in Erieau.
On July 27, 2026, Chatham-Kent (CK) police received a report of a possible burnout over the crosswalk.
Police identified the vehicle using CCTV footage and eventually the driver after receiving tips from the public.
A warrant was issued and a man was arrested on October 3, 2026. He is charged with mischief over $5,000.
He's since been released from police custody with a future court date.
