Wallaceburg driver charged after being clocked at nearly double the speed limit

A stunt driving charge has been laid after a driver was busted for doing nearly double the speed limit in Chatham-Kent.

Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said that the incident happened on St. Clair Road.

At around 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, an OPP officer said they spotted the vehicle going 142 kilometres per hour in an 80 km/h zone, police said.

The 45-year-old from Wallaceburg also had their licence suspended for 30 days and their vehicle impounded.
