A cleanup is now underway following a fire at an ethanol plant in Chatham.
According to Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue, the blaze at Greenfield Global's site on Bloomfield Road has been fully extinguished.
No one was injured, while the extent of the damage remains unknown at this time.
Fire and Rescue say there's no indication that the air quality in and around the plant has been affected.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but there's an early belief that it may have been started by a lightning strike.
Bloomfield Road between Riverview Drive and the railway tracks will remain closed as crews clean up the area. Businesses in the area remain open, with Fire and Rescue noting that it's safe to visit them.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is also sending out a thank you to the St. Clair Township Fire Department, which helped fight the fire.
