Just ahead of schools opening for the new school year, there will be closures across Chatham-Kent (CK).
Municipal offices and most services will be closed on Monday in recognition of Labour Day. This includes fleet services, employment and social services, housing services, and public works.
The Public Utilities Commission and Entegrus will be shut for the holiday.
The Service Ontario locations in Chatham and Dresden will also be closed.
CK Public Health will be closed on Monday, though the after-hours phone number (519-352-7270) is available in the case of a public health emergency.
Services at both Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's (CKHA) Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered on Labour Day. Hemodialysis Care and the Emergency Department will be open, and anyone with a scheduled test is encouraged to go as staff will be available for them.
Landfills and Leaf and Yard Waste Depots will be closed, and curbside garbage and recycling pick up will be delayed by one day next week.
Those who use public transportation will have to find a different way to get around on Monday. All Ride CK Transit services will not be operating.
All area arenas and pools will be closed for the holiday, as will libraries, galleries, theatres, and museums.
