The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority (LTVCA) is warning Chatham-Kent (CK) residents that forecasted rain could lead to localized flooding throughout the region.
According to the conservation authority, CK could see 15 to 25 millimetres of rain late this evening and into tomorrow. The LTVCA warns that this could lead to standing water, ponding, and localized flooding.
The Thames River is already running higher, but the LTVCA reports that it is too early to tell if the heavy rain will have a significant impact on the river.
The conservation warns residents to be extra cautious and to avoid waterways that are running high.
