The Tilbury Information and H.E.L.P. Centre will get half of the proceeds from the area's Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.
The program, run by the United Way, will get $3,150 to support emergency food and housing assistance.
"These funds are a frontline lifeline," said Lorraine Goddard, CEO, United Way Centraide Windsor-Essex Chatham-Kent. "The Tilbury Information and H.E.L.P. Centre provides emergency food assistance, guidance for safe housing, and access to essential services for families in Tilbury and neighbouring areas. This donation will immediately impact lives this winter."
The other $3,150 raised during the campaign will go toward Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
The Holiday Smile Cookie campaign ran from November 17 to November 23. Proceeds from each cookie sold were donated to a local cause, with restaurants throughout the municipality choosing different charities.
Across the country, $13-million was raised during this year's campaign. Since the event launched in 2023, a total of $33.5-million has been collected.
"The generosity of Canadians never ceases to amaze us," said Caroline Barham, president of Tim Hortons Foundation Camps and franchise owner. "More than just a festive treat, every Holiday Smile Cookie purchased makes a meaningful impact in communities across the country. And for Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, this means that we can continue to empower underserved youth to build bigger and brighter futures."
