Ontario's civilian police watchdog is currently investigating four incidents involving Chatham-Kent police.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is probing four incidents, including two sexual assault investigations and two Custody Injury investigations.
No details have been released about either reported assault, only that the investigations started on September 8 and September 19.
The cases are all recent, with the SIU being notified about the oldest case on July 31. It pertains to a 34-year-old woman who was found unresponsive.
According to the SIU, the woman was arrested and taken into custody, where she was searched.
She was transported to the courthouse and left in a cell. A couple of hours later, officers found the woman unresponsive and administered first aid, including giving the woman naloxone. She was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The latest investigation concerns an incident that happened in Wallaceburg over the Thanksgiving long weekend, where police discharged their conducted energy weapons.
CK police have been subject to 27 SIU investigations since 2017,with only one investigation leading to criminal charges against an officer.
