Drug Bust

Five people have been arrested and charged with multiple offences following a drug bust in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police seized cocaine, two pellet gun rifles, a pellet gun revolver, a crossbow, ammunition, brass knuckles, cell phones, a digital scale with cocaine residue, and Canadian cash from a home on Park Street in Chatham on Friday morning.

Police said the seized cocaine has an estimated street value of approximately $2,000.

According to police, officers also recovered $1,800 worth of items that were reported stolen during a break-and-enter earlier this month.

A 22-year-old Chatham man, a 28-year-old Chatham man, a 35-year-old Chatham female, a 29-year-old Chatham man, and a 43-year-old Chatham man were all charged with drug trafficking and possession of stolen property.

Break In

Chatham-Kent police are looking for help finding whoever broke into a business in Chatham.

Police said the break-and-enter took place at a business on Currie Street in Chatham on Friday afternoon.

According to police, someone entered through a shared door that was unlocked, then broke an interior door to get in.

The investigation continues.
