A Blenheim senior will be sky diving this weekend to raise funds for the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
Barb Holden will be jumping on her 75th birthday on Saturday near Hamilton to raise $5,000 or more to help CK Hospice.
Holden told CK News Today that it's been on her bucket list of must things to do since she was in her 20s.
"I've always wanted to do it and to be able to tick something off my bucket list and raise some funds or the hospice. The hospice is very dear to my heart, I've been a volunteer there for a long time. As a community, Chatham-Kent is very fortunate to have that place. So, I'm killing two birds with one stone," said Holden.
Holden admits that she is a bit of a thrill seeker and has an "extensive" bucket list to accomplish, including the EdgeWalk at the CN Tower on Friday.
"I think I might be a little bit of a daredevil. I think that might be what's in my DNA. Life is like a roll of toilet paper, the older you get, the faster it goes," she said laughingly.
Holden said she has raised $3,000 so far for end-of-life care at CK Hospice.
Holden has been volunteering at Chatham-Kent Hospice for five years. She helps out at reception and knits comfort hearts for visitors and families.
