Crowfest expected to draw thousands of people to CK

Thousands of people are expected to flock to Chatham-Kent to take part in the municipality's biggest annual event.

Crowfest CK returns for a fourth time on September 17, with this year's festival bringing in performers from as far as Austria.

"The Flying Fools" from Montreal will be this year's signature act, with professionals jumping from as high as 82 feet into a small pool.

Other performers include illusionist and comedian Danny ZZZZ, DJ Andre Alridge, and buskers from across the globe.

A full schedule for the four-day event can be found online.

Andrew Thiel, co-chair of Crowfest, told CK News Today that Chatham will be jam packed with people.

"(The second and third days) we're expecting about 25,000 to 30,000 as long as the weather is good," he said.

Thiel added they're expecting many from outside the municipality to take part. He explained that the festival has gone international in some ways.

"We were lucky enough last year that we had some people from England," said Thiel.

Meanwhile, everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to buy 50/50 tickets in support of Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario.

The organization is hoping to raise at least $25,000.

"They've been with us since year one, they're great partners to work with, so it was an easy decision (to support)," added Thiel.

People can buy tickets online or in person at Crowfest.
