Troublesome youths prompted Chatham pool closure

A police investigation is underway in connection with some disturbances that prompted the temporary closure of the Orville Wright Pool in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police told CK News Today officers were called to the pool on Wednesday, July 9 for reports of two youths "causing repeated disturbances and making staff feel unsafe."

Police said no arrests were made and no charges have been laid, but a safety plan was implemented and both of the youths were "verbally trespassed from the property."

The municipality said in a release on Wednesday that the pool was set to re-open for regular hours, adding that all pool users must follow the rules put in place and listen to staff instructions.
