Summer ARTcrawl returns

A popular summer event is returning to four Chatham venues this month.

The Thames Art Gallery (TAG) announced the schedule on Thursday.

The event takes place on Friday, July 18, and will begin at 5 p.m. at ARTspace. (165 King St. W.)

Works by 43 ARTspace artists will be on display. The venue will also feature an exhibition titled Blue Balloon, which is a collaborative project with the Alzheimer's Society of Chatham-Kent and art therapist Krista Schneider. Blue Balloon honours the creative voices of individuals living with dementia.

At 6:05 p.m., the ARTcrawl continues down King Street West to Art and Heirloom Shoppe. (137 King St. W.)

According to TAG, the artwork of 60 Southwestern Ontario artists will be available for viewing. Attendees will have the chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the Art and Heirloom Shoppe.

Next, Crow City Coffee (28 William St. S.) opens at 6:45 p.m.

The venue will provide beverages and treats while guests enjoy Chatham-Kent artist Laura Graham's exhibition Fear in Flesh.

The ARTcrawl will conclude at TAG (75 William St. N.).

At 7:30 p.m., the gallery will open its doors and debut Herbaria, a group art exhibition. Herbaria is described as an exploration of "humanity's evolving relationship with plant life and the systems that shape our understanding of it."

The event is free and open to the entire community. More information can be found here.
