Man arrested for bail violation

Just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, police in Wallaceburg spotted a man walking on James Street with a woman he was not allowed to communicate with.

CK police said this was part of release conditions following a prior incident.

When the officers attempted to take the man into custody, he became uncooperative and resisted arrest. According to police, that led to a struggle during which both he and the arresting officer sustained minor injuries.

Medical attention was not required.

The 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with resisting a peace officer and failing to comply with his release order.

He was taken to police headquarters, where he is being held pending a bail hearing.
