Chatham-Kent police are putting out a notice to the public that you may see some officers along the Thames River throughout the day on Monday.
First responders were seen along the river near the Lacroix Street Bridge in Chatham shortly before 5 a.m. Monday and officers said it is part of an "ongoing investigation."
Police and first responders were also set up on the river just west of the Third Street Bridge in Chatham mid-morning on Monday and police confirmed with CK News Today the investigation is taking place specifically in Chatham, but could not provide any further details.
Police said there is no threat to public safety and residents are encouraged to go about their usual activities.
More to come.
