Brooke Bentley from Chatham-Kent Secondary School (CKSS) is coming home from the provincial championships with some hardware.
She won silver in senior girls shot put at the OFSAA track and field meet at York University in Toronto on Thursday, June 5.
Bentley's best throw was 12.26 metres in the fifth round.
Meanwhile, the novice girls' 4x100 m relay team from CKSS qualified for the finals.
The team of Gisele McKaig, Gebet Osei, Jemmoy Campbell, and Lia Hillman qualified with the second-fastest time of 50.52. The final will take place on Friday afternoon.
The senior boys soccer team from Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) is at the 'AAA' tournament in Kingston. On Thursday, the Lancers won 2-0, and tied 1-1. They play their final two pool play games today.
The boys' soccer team from Tilbury District High School (TDHS) lost twice yesterday, but they play more games Friday at the 'A' tournament in Welland.
