Intimate Partner Violence Arrest

A 35-year-old man from Wallaceburg has been charged following a domestic disturbance.

Chatham-Kent police alleged the suspect assaulted and threatened a 42-year-old Wallaceburg woman during a domestic-related incident at a home on Wednesday just before 9:30 a.m.

Police said witnesses reported hearing shouting and sounds of distress before approaching the residence, where they allegedly saw the suspect making aggressive threats.

CK police the man was found inside a parked vehicle nearby, adding he was bound by multiple probation orders, including conditions to stay away from the victim.

The suspect was previously convicted of assault and uttering threats with ongoing conditions still in effect.

The suspect is facing charges of assault and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
