New leader at CK Hospice Foundation

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation has named a new leader and it's a familiar face in the community.

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Board of Directors has appointed Brock McGregor as its new Executive Director beginning June 9, 2025.

“The Foundation Board is excited to welcome Brock. His long-standing commitment to volunteerism and community engagement makes him a strong leader well positioned to continue the Foundation’s legacy and commitment to raising funds and awareness for the Chatham-Kent Hospice,” said Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Board Chair Marian Redford.

McGregor has been a Chatham-Kent councillor since 2014 and is Chair of the Chatham-Kent Board of Health.

“I am excited to join the Foundation team and contribute to the sustainability and growth of Chatham-Kent Hospice. Compassionate care makes a profound impact on individuals and families in our community every day, and I am eager to support this important work in Chatham-Kent,” McGregor said.

McGregor said he couldn't pass up a great opportunity to join a great team at Hospice.

"It's a tremendous organization and foundation that makes such an impact in people's lives here in Chatham-Kent and the opportunity to joint that team at the foundation and continue the work that's happened there (was attractive)," said McGregor.

He noted his current priority is to keep building relationships in the community and maintain the great work done by his predecessor Jodi Maroney.

"My goal really is to build on those great relationships that are already there and make sure that we can continue to work towards that sustainability of the organization going forward," he said.

The board said an extensive selection process was done, leading to McGregor.

He will take over from Jodi Maroney, who is set to retire on June 27, 2025.

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation is responsible for the fundraising activities needed to support Chatham-Kent Hospice and families with end of life for their loved ones.

The Chatham-Kent Hospice is a 10-bed residential facility that offers comfort, support, and specialized pain and symptom management in a home-like setting with around the clock care provided by dedicated physicians, nurses, personal support workers and volunteers.

Meanwhile,

McGregor will be closing his clinical practice in Chatham.

He said he will be available over the next two months to review treatment plans for naturopathic patients and help transition them to a new provider.
