Chatham Mischief

Charges of break and enter and mischief have been laid against a 44-year-old Leamington man after he allegedly kicked down a door at a friend's place.

Chatham-Kent police alleged the suspect was asked to leave by his friend just after midnight on Thursday after making unwelcome advances. However, he allegedly returned to an address on Mary Street in Chatham minutes later, kicked down the door, and entered without permission.

Bail Violation

Chatham-Kent police have charged a 51-year-old Dover Township man with breaching his bail conditions after a woman was found in his apartment.

Police said the man was under court orders to not contact the woman following an arrest for alleged assault and mischief in November 2024.

The suspect was arrested on Winterline Road in Dover Township on Wednesday after officers conducted a routine compliance check at the man’s residence and discovered the woman in a dark bedroom.

Break and Enter Charge

A 34-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing multiple charges, including break and enter following a break-in at a business in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police said a break and enter took place on Baseline Road in Wallaceburg Tuesday morning and the suspect was arrested on Agnes Street in Wallaceburg on Wednesday and was charged.

Police said a complainant saw a man on video surveillance entering the premises and putting several items inside a backpack, adding the video footage also confirmed the suspect’s identity.

The suspect is facing charges of breaking and entering; possession of property obtained by crime; and failure to comply with his court ordered release from custody.
