There's no need to pack a lunch on Thursday, May 8.
Community Living Chatham-Kent is once again running its popular Box Lunch fundraiser.
"This year is super exciting for our community, from our community, partnering with Fuel 4 You, which will take place on May 8," said Brittany Emery, Volunteer and Events Coordinator. "So this year it will include a chicken Caesar or a veggie wrap, coleslaw, cookie, and water for only $15."
Delivery to Blenheim, Ridgetown, Merlin, Tilbury, Wheatley, Thamesville, Wallaceburg, Pain Court and Chatham is included. Volunteers will drop off the lunches between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Community Living Chatham-Kent has also teamed up with the VON of Chatham-Kent to sponsor a box lunch for kids.
"With your purchase, you can choose to add a $5 donation, which will go towards sponsoring a box lunch for kids," said Emery. "Those will be delivered on May 9."
The kids' box lunch will include a wrap and a cookie.
Emery added that they've set some lofty goals this year.
"We're hoping to beat last year's goal, always that's the goal. It's over 1,500 on May 8, and then we're hoping, we're about 75 per cent of the way to our goal for May 9 for students. We want to get as many as we can for the kids, over 400," said Emery.
All of the proceeds from the Box Lunch will stay in Chatham-Kent to enrich the lives of people who have diverse abilities by providing quality services and meaningful, inclusive opportunities.
The deadline to place an order is Thursday, May 1. Order online at https://www.clc-k.ca/our-impact/events-fundraising/box-lunch/.
