Five people are officially vying to become the next Member of Parliament (MP) for Chatham-Kent-Leamington.
According to Elections Canada, the Conservative Party of Canada, the NDP, the Liberal Party of Canada, the Green Party of Canada, and the People's Party of Canada (PPC) are each running a candidate.
Advanced polling will take place from April 18 to 21, while election day is April 28.
The date to nominate a candidate was Monday, April 7. However, it may take Elections Canada until Wednesday, April 9 to finalize its list.
These are the candidates who have been confirmed for Chatham-Kent-Leamington so far:

Running for the Conservatives will be Dave Epp.
He has been the riding's MP since 2019. In the past two elections, Epp has received at least 40 per cent of the vote.

The NDP's candidate is Seamus McInnis Fleming.
This is the first time Fleming is running in any election within the riding.
Fleming is holding a meet and greet on April 12 at the Turns and Tales Board Game Cafe in Chatham.

The Liberal Party of Canada has chosen Keith Pickard to be its candidate.
He was named the candidate at the beginning of April. He currently works with Eclipse Packaging in the Leamington and Kingsville area.

Running for the Green Party of Canada is James Plunkett.
He has lived in Bothwell for the last 10 years. Plunkett has been an AZ truck driver for the last 11 years.

The candidate for the PPC is Trevor Lee.
He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but has lived in southern Ontario since 2000.
Lee previously ran for the PPC in 2019 in the riding of Hamilton Mountain. He received just 1.4 per cent of the vote.
