Upcoming job fair to offer vast array of job opportunities

Those in Chatham-Kent looking for work or to attract workers will have plenty of opportunities over the next 10 days.

A job fair will be held March 5, 2025 at the Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham from 1-7 p.m. for those who want to connect with employers, learn about opportunities to enhance their skills, and explore exciting career paths.

Chatham-Kent Employment and Social Services Program Manager Matt Keech told CK News Today the job fair will have 75 employers recruiting for 125 positions from students to part-time and full-time jobs.

Keech noted the job fair will offer government, office, medical, hi-tech, and policing jobs, adding community groups will also be there looking for students who want to complete their community service.

Keech noted CK's population is growing and with it comes a growing workforce with more demand for jobs and employees.

"Our local workforce planning board is forecasting that there will be nearly 3,000 jobs from growth demand between 2024 and 2031 and another 11,150 jobs from replacement demand during this time," noted Keech.

Keech said the job fair has something for everyone and is the perfect place for employees who are ready to take the next step in their careers.

"We have employers who are recruiting for apprenticeship positions. Educational institutions are going to be on-site. So, that's also great if someone is looking to go back to school," said Keech.

Keech said partnerships were also announced with Handy Brothers and Skills Ontario to offer diverse job opportunities and training.

"Skills Ontario is going to be bringing in their skilled trades tech truck to the event. This is a great way for job seekers, young and old, to check out through activities and simulation various skilled trades in a really unique way," he said.

CK Jobs also announced in-person and virtual events aimed at providing resources for residents to help find jobs, apprenticeships, or start a new career until March 5. There will also be seminars for local businesses on talent attraction and retention supports during the week.
