Police assault

There was no love lost between a man wanted on an arrest warrant and a Chatham-Kent police officer during an arrest in Tilbury.

Chatham-Kent police said the 53-year-old man from Tilbury, who was wanted for careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm, failed to comply with the officer's orders and allegedly assaulted the officer during an arrest attempt on Queen Street North in Tilbury on Thursday at approximately 12:30 a.m.

Police noted the officer was not hurt during the scuffle.

The man was charged with assaulting a peace officer with intent to resist arrest and resisting a peace officer on top of his outstanding warrants for arrest.

Break and Enter

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man and a woman from Wheatley and a man from Leamington during a break and enter in progress.

Police allege the 37-year-old man and the 32-year-old woman from Wheatley and the 42-year-old man from Leamington entered a fenced compound in Raleigh Township around 6 a.m. on Thursday with the intention of committing an indictable offence.

The trio was charged with breaking and entering and possession of property under $5,000.

The 37-year-old man was also identified in a previous theft, according to CK police.

Arrest warrants

A 31-year-old woman from Chatham-Kent wanted on an arrest warrant for theft has been arrested by Chatham-Kent police.

Police reported she was taken into custody Thursday night on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man from Chatham turned himself in at Chatham-Kent police headquarters in downtown Chatham Thursday night.

Police said he was wanted on an arrest warrant related to an Intimate Partner Violence investigation where he was charged with assault, uttering threats, and assault causing bodily harm.
