Another night of great music for a great cause is on the horizon in Chatham.
Another Music for the Mind concert will be taking place February 7, 2025 at the Portuguese Club in Chatham to raise money for much-needed child and adult mental health services and resources in Chatham-Kent.
The event will feature four bands, including Just Us, 40 Hours Over, 89 NEXT, Big Shiny Toons, DJ Shawn L, a silent auction, and a 50/50 draw.
Organizer Elisha Banks told CK News Today the Music for the Mind show is something that people look forward to every year because it's a fun time.
"People connect with people they haven't seen in a while or they're coming with family and friends and they have a good time. And when they leave, they feel this improvement in their mental health and it lifts people's spirits and moods," Banks said.
Banks said Chatham-Kent is extremely blessed to have such amazing local talent that cares so much about the community and the cause.
"They always step up and they always come and give an amazing show. When they come and they're giving their time and they're playing their heart out on stage, they're doing it to really help," she added.
Banks said some people struggle with their mental health this time of year.
Proceeds go to help Family Service Kent, the KIDS Team Program, and the Children's Treatment Centre.
The goal for the concert is to raise about $13,000.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and you must be 19 years of age to enter.
