The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has announced second-quarter payments for municipalities hosting casinos.
Chatham-Kent, home to Cascades Casino Chatham, will receive $439,029 for the period of July 1 to September 30.
That's about $25,000 more than the casino earned last year over the same time period.
CK's total for this fiscal year (April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025) is up to $881,071.
"Land-based casinos serve as a source of good local jobs and generate important economic activity in municipalities that host gaming sites," said Trevor Jones, Member of Provincial Parliament for Chatham-Kent-Leamington. "Proceeds from gaming received through the Municipality Contribution Agreement with OLG, in turn, help strengthen local infrastructure and support community programs."
Payments to host communities are part of OLG's commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG's profits back into the province.
Since the Cascades Casino Chatham opened in 2001, Chatham-Kent has received $18,680,536.
