$20K worth of tools stolen during residential break-in
Chatham-Kent police are asking for tips to help them solve a break-in in Chatham where someone took off with about $20,000 worth of tools.
Police said they got that call on Thursday, and learned that someone had broken into a shop on a property in the area of Gregory Drive East in Chatham either late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact Constable Garrett Sanchez at garretts@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600.

Trailer stolen from Rivard Line in Dover Township
Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a black 8' long flatbed trailer was reported stolen from a property west of Chatham.
Police said the report was filed Thursday and that it's believed the trailer was taken sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

Man smashes security alarm during break-in
A 20-year-old man is finding out the hard way that if you hear an alarm going off, the police might already be on their way.
Chatham-Kent police said they received a report of a motion alarm that had been activated at a local business on Richmond Street in Chatham at around 4:20 a.m. Friday.
Officers said when they arrived, they found a 20-year-old Chatham man inside who had allegedly tried to disable the audible security alarm by smashing it.
Police also learned that the man had pried one of the doors open in order to get inside with the intent of finding something of value.
Officers arrested the man and charged him with one count of breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence along with one count of mischief.
Police said the man didn't have any stolen property on him when they arrested him, but added that the damage was estimated at around $1,000.
The suspect was taken to police headquarters for processing and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia woman arrested at CK police headquarters
A 36-year-old Sarnia woman who was wanted by Chatham-Kent police made it easy for them to find her.
Police said the woman showed up at CK police headquarters at around 11:45 a.m. Thursday.
She was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was later released with a future court date.

Patrol officer picks up wanted man
A Chatham-Kent police officer who was out on patrol Thursday afternoon ended up finding a wanted 41-year-old Chatham man.
Police said the officer found the man, who is known to police, at around 4 p.m. Thursday and confirmed that he was wanted for failing to attend court.
The man was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Wanted Wallaceburg man arrested overnight
A 32-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted by CK police was arrested overnight.
Chatham-Kent police said an officer on general patrol found him in Wallaceburg at around 1:20 a.m. Friday.
After confirming the man was wanted for failing to attend court, the officer arrested the man and took him to police headquarters where he was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
