The final fundraising push for the Children's Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK) started with a bang.
The Build for the Kids campaign launched on Monday, October 7 at Chatham Chrysler with a donation of over $339,800 from local service groups and businesses.
The CTC-CK is aiming to raise the remaining $500,000 needed to reach the $10 million goal to complete the new state-of-the-art facility that is currently under construction on McNaughton Ave. W in Chatham.
The new building is designed to meet the growing needs of children and families in Chatham-Kent. It will enhance accessibility and provide a larger, more accommodating space for essential programs like physiotherapy, social work, recreational therapy, and more.
The two-week-long campaign features 11 events throughout Chatham-Kent, including a White Glove Dinner at McDonald's, a Halloween Bash at Red Barn Brewing, a Trivia Night at Level Up Arcade and Bowling, and much more.
Residents can also show their support by purchasing a t-shirt for $25, while students at local schools and employees at local businesses can also purchase paper butterflies.
"We are overwhelmed by the generosity we've already seen from our community," said Mike Genge, President & CEO of the Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent. "This final campaign is about coming together as a community to ensure we can open a facility that truly meets the needs of our kids and their families. Every contribution counts, and we know Chatham-Kent will make it happen."
The final event is a movie party at the Chatham Capitol Theatre on Sunday, October 20. The full schedule of events can be found online at www.buildforthekids.ca.
