Tilbury senior accused of assaulting two family members

A 73-year-old Tilbury man is facing two counts of assault after a family argument turned violent.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the family dispute on Park Lane in Tilbury shortly before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and learned that the man had allegedly assaulted two adult family members after an argument got heated.

The man was arrested, charged, and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Cottam man arrested for uttering threats over the phone

A 24-year-old Cottam man spent the night in police custody after he allegedly called a former partner and threatened to hurt her.

CK police said they were called to Middle Line in Tilbury for that investigation at around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, adding that OPP arrested the man at his home in Cottam.

The man was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Man found hiding in an attic

A 34-year-old Windsor man is facing charges after he was found hiding in the attic of a home he had been ordered to stay away from.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the man at a residence on Harvey Street in Chatham shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday after they got a tip about a man who was wanted for arson being at the home.

Officers said when they searched the place, they found a different man hiding in the attic and confirmed that he had previously been released from custody with a condition that banned him from attending that specific residence.

The accused was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

He is charged with mischief and failing to comply with an undertaking.
